Ethos & Philosophy
At Frenchpark & District Childcare we believe in providing an environment that is secure, caring, loving, nurturing and anti bias. We strive to create a homely like environment that is welcoming and warm.
Equality & Culture
We believe that all children should be treated with equality, and their cultural and linguistic diversity embraced and acknowledged. Families are encouraged to share their culture, language and home experiences with the centre. Our emphasis is on partnerships with families and the greater community.

Learning & Independence
Families are encouraged to participate in the centre and share in decision making. We aim to provide a diverse program that reflects both group and individual needs. Through ongoing observations and evaluations, we aim to provide enriching experiences that encourage and promote learning and development.
Our programme not only covers the areas of language, cognitive, social/emotional, fine motor and gross motor development, but also provides for the holistic child.
Children’s self help skills and independence will be encouraged. The staff will encourage and assist with meal times, dressing, sleeping, toileting and nappy changing.
Nutrition, Positive Encouragement & Special Needs
Meals and menus are provided that are fresh, nutritional, varied and well balanced. Safe food handling and hygiene practices are observed at all times.
Positive encouragement and reinforcement are used as tools to direct and promote behaviours. Through positive encouragement and experiences we aim to build high self-esteem and self worth.
Our program is inclusive of children with special needs and will be provided for. Programs and plans will reflect the individual child’s needs, and where appropriate resource workers will be utilised.

Staff Training & Quality of Service
Staff are committed to ongoing training and learning in the childcare field. The staff meet on a regular basis to discuss issues arising from the centre and also evaluate their childcare practices.
The centre regularly observes documents and evaluates all practices, to continually update and improve the quality of service and standard of care we provide.
It is our aim to provide a loving, caring, nurturing environment that promotes each child’s learning and development, self esteem and individuality, whilst having a day that’s lots of fun!
