[vc_column_text]At Frenchpark & Districts Childcare Ltd, we understand that observation and assessment are key to supporting each child\u2019s unique development. In line with <\/span>Article 5 of the Pre-School Regulations (2006), we are committed to promoting the health, welfare, and development of every child through age-appropriate and culturally sensitive experiences, materials, and interactions.<\/p>\n

We implement clear policies to plan, deliver, and document an evolving curriculum that is grounded in <\/span>ongoing observations of the children in our care. These observations allow us to:<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

  • Support each child\u2019s individual needs <\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Provide appropriate challenge and progression <\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • Offer a broad and balanced programme across all age groups <\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        How We Observe and Plan<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

        We use a structured approach to observation and assessment, tailored for each developmental stage \u2014 from <\/span>babies and toddlers to preschool and after-school children. Our daily, weekly, and monthly planning is guided by children\u2019s interests and emerging learning needs:<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

        • Daily routine records \u2013 these are uploaded to child paths throughout the day so parents can keep informed as the day goes on. Parents also have the chance at handover to pass on any messages needed to or from the educator in their child\u2019s room <\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • Programmes of activities- these are developed for each age group and clearly displayed in each room<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
              \n
            • Weekly and monthly plans \u2013 these reflect the children\u2019s emerging interests and upcoming events ensuring learning remains relevant and engaging. These plans are displayed on each rooms noticeboard<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              • Individual observations \u2013 these are based on children\u2019s emerging interests and developing skills and are used to tailor our curriculum for both group and one on one learning opportunities. These are uploaded to child paths along with photos of the observation for parents to see.<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Documenting Development <\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

                We maintain confidential Child Observation Registers and Child Personal Records, which are available for inspection by TUSLA (the Child and Family Agency) and for review by parents. Observations are not just about tracking progress \u2014 they\u2019re about understanding the whole child. Each child receives a an observation once each month. These reports are shared with parents through Child Paths , ensuring open communication and a shared approach to supporting development. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

                Working in partnership with parents <\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

                We value daily communication with parents and carers. At collection time, we share updates from each child\u2019s Daily Routine Record, showcase their work and art, and engage in meaningful conversation about their learning and wellbeing. Our approach ensures that every child is recognised, supported, and celebrated \u2014 and that parents are always informed and involved in their child\u2019s learning journey.<\/span> <\/span>[\/vc_column_text]<\/div>
