The National Childcare Scheme (NCS) is a government-funded initiative designed to make early learning and childcare more affordable for families in Ireland. The scheme provides financial support through both universal and income-assessed subsidies, which are paid directly to registered childcare providers, reducing the cost of childcare for parents.
The universal subsidy is available to all families with children aged from 24 weeks to 15 years who are attending a registered childcare service. This subsidy is currently €2.14 per hour, for up to 45 hours per week, regardless of family income. In addition, families may qualify for an income-assessed subsidy, which offers a higher level of support based on household income and circumstances.
Our service is registered with the National Childcare Scheme, and we are happy to assist parents with information and guidance on the application process.
